I did this especially for the Illustration Friday topic this week and to get into the Halloween mood.

IF: Underwater

Well I've had yet another long break in posting here  but actually found time to do this one. 

This is an illustration of a German Uboat from WWII. I've been intending to do an image like this for a while to try out the underwater look and  with this weeks topic it had to be done:)

This is a 3D model rendered in Bryce and then lots of post work applied to create a more painterly effect.

Chasmosaurus

Well been slacking again on the blog so thought I'd put up my latest dinosaur illustration of a Chasmosaurus.

This was a ceratopid dinosaur from the late Cretaceous (75-70 million years ago) and would have been about 4.5 metres long and weighed about 1.5 tons.

They had a particularly impressive elongated frills. It has been speculated that this may have had bright colours used for display during mating and other communication and species recognition.

Like with other ceratopid dinosaurs it also made them appear larger and more threatening to potential predators.

IF: Yesterday

Just an old radio for the music of yesterday.

IF: WIngs

I wasn't sure what to do for this so being interested in historical illustration decided to do an image of an  aircraft. I decided on the Spitfire, one of the  best looking planes ever built and one  which also has the very distinct wing shape.

IF: Myth

With the subject of myth here is one of the most well know creatures from Greek mythology, the winged horse Pegasus.

IF: Ocean

Just my take on an Ocean really and trying out a dramatic painterly look.

IF: Edge

Been slacking on the illustration Friday lately so this is just a quick one I did for this week’s topic and a chance to experiment with a graphic look. This was a 3D render that was later post worked to death! :)
